ORNL Electric Vehicle Charging Station provides solar-assisted charging for up to 16 vehicles. Charging stations are available at the Chestnut Ride facilities, the Hardin Valley Campus, and ORNL’s main campus. Solar canopy consists of a 47 kW photovoltaic (PV) solar array mounted above the charging stations. The DC electricity generated by the solar array is converted to AC power by an inverter and delivered to the ORNL power grid.
