Older workers’ careers: upskilling, reskilling and transitions

Workers, aged over 40, in England have been responding to the challenges of continuing to develop their work-related learning, careers and identities. There are already some policy changes that show that societies recognize attitudes towards, and the behavior of, adult workers needs to change. Ministers in the UK are arguing that there is a need to promote cultural change that ensures older people are encouraged to enjoy full and active participation in society. Without this full participation there will be huge waste of human resource and potential.
