In 2019, non-traditional investors participated in more than 85% of the 252 deals over $100 million. Over half of the companies on the 2009 Fortune 500 list began during a recession or bear market, and the list of companies founded during or slightly after the Global Financial Crisis includes Airbnb, Cloudera, Convene, DropBox, Flipkart, GitHub, Glassdoor and Groupon.
