Americans and Social Trust: Who, Where and Why

A new Pew Social Trends Survey finds that whites are more trusting than blacks or Hispanics. Men and women; Republicans and Democrats; liberals and conservatives have roughly similar levels of trust. Americans are closely divided on the question: “Generally speaking, would you say that most people can be trusted or that you can’t be too careful?”.
